THE PARABLES OF JESUS

Parable of the Pearl

The Parable of the Pearl is also called the Pearl of Great Price. According to Matthew 13:45-46 (“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.) The parable illustrates the great value of the Kingdom of Heaven.

This is about seeking and recognizing the value of God's gift.. Though the man in the previous parable may have simply run across the treasure by chance, this man purposely sought the treasure, making it his profession and purpose in life. Such an attitude is a characteristic of saving faith as the author of Hebrews writes

Heb 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
